Today’s Cave du Tonnelier («Cooper’s Cellar») is the result of a long tradition of craftsmanship. Jean-François HAULLER (1775-1848) and all his descendants were entirely dedicated to the coopering of wooden casks. Léon HAULLER (1913- ) is the last in a line of Master-Coopers. Early in the last century, this passion expanded to encompass both Vineyards and Wine, which grew to become the principal activity of his son Louis and his grandson Claude, who today are the winegrowers at DOMAINE DU TONNELIER.

In 1996, in order to guarantee the controlled expansion of the family business, Louis and Claude HAULLER created a company to manage the “Cave du Tonnelier”, to sell both the wines from its own estate and from other selected vineyards.

This modern, fully air-conditioned building now brings together all the storage, packaging, despatch and administrative services, enabling the domain at DAMBACH-LA-VILLE to take advantage of the available space to expand its vinification facility and install an efficient bottling plant.

The vineyards cultivated by the Hauller family’s extend over more than 10 hectares :
